Theres a 1952 BMW single at one of the dealers I visit. Its a
beautifully made piece of machinery, and far far better thought out and
built than any British bike of the period. The rear mudguard hinges
upwards to allow wheel removal, theres a reverse gear for sidecar use
and the ignition key is a work of art.
Ill take some photos next time Im there.

I do not object to people looking at their watches when I am speaking.
But I strongly object when they start shaking them to make certain they
are still going. William Norman Birkett, 1st Baron Birkett, Oct 1960.
