No worries. Im trying to recall where I read it; probably PB but could
have been Streetfighters; apparently the Bandit is easiest, coz most of
the restriction is in the pipe, whereas with an XJR you have to know
what youre doing to get the best out of them, but for people who do
(which would be you), they can get some very healthy bhp boosts; ISTR
140 bhp being doable with not *too* much money, and 150+ with a bit more
outlay, but only if you could do the work yourself; a commercial tuning
house would charge too much.

Not an issue for you though, I would think :)

Ive ridden a couple of them and I quite liked them; YTCs first, then a
mate in Kent who had some mild tuning done on his (K&Ns, pipe, mild head
polish IIRC). Theyre a bit soft and wallowy compared to, say, a Bandit,
and ginges ZRX was *way* more modern in feel, but theres something
really honest about an XJR, if that makes any sense. Theyre proper
retro, not pseudo-retro. The chrome clocks, twin shocks and the like
just make it feel like a big UJM of the 80s, but better.

In absolute terms though, as a comparison, Ginges ZRX has *way* more
snap to the engine; the XJR, even the tuned one, felt like a turbine,
whereas the ZRX had that instant wallop as the grunt comes in. This
would presumably be down to a much lighter crank/flywheel arrangement?

No I meant a proper supermoto; something a bit silly. Mind you the
prices of silly supermotos seem ... well ... silly, to me. On a bhp per
buck basis.

Ditto [1]

[1] your shite sig sep, not your fruitloopiness ... although ... :)
