Ay oop. Im thinking of taking my two boys to the Renault World Series
thing at Donington next weekend, but accomodation for the Sat night
looks woeful. I can get availability in either Nottingham or Derby
which SEEM close enough, but any ideas whether this is just going to
be a commuting nightmare on the Sunday morning to get to the event?

Camping isnt an option, so has to be hotel / decent B&B type thing.

All hints gratefully received, ta.

It can get very busy on the roads from the M1 through to the circuit,
once youre past the airport.

Traffic will flow, and there will be police on hand to direct traffic,
but the track is surrounded by standard country lanes, so its traffic
density thats the problem. Easy enough on a bike.. very slow in a car.

Have you tried the travel inn over the services, its what we used while
testing there this week.

Have you ever seen the world series Renaults before, if not take ear
protectors :o) The Fortec Renault was testing at Silverstone last week on
the same day as us... By fuck that thing is loud and fast, well it was until
it shunted the tyre wall at eekety eek mph.

My new job as truck driver for a Formula Renault team means I get to see
some pretty tricky stuff nowerdays. Like watching some 800+bhp EVOs running
round the brands indie circuit in 51s on Friday, pretty awesome seeing as
out single seaters only manage low 46s running the BARC restrictors

I stayed here many years ago, on a company conference:

Food was good and bed was a 4-poster.
