Took the Blackbird for the new tyres. Bald tyre on lose chippings was
interesting.

Mechanic at garage reverses newish Merc 4x4 into the secretaries
spotless Megan[1]. I guess hell be drinking just water for the next
few weeks.

Set off back home, these Blackbirds dont half pick up speed fast and
sooooo smooth.

Im going to lose my licence

Im going to lose my life

There is a knocking coming from the front, I stop and investigate. A
fucking bolt missing from my caliper. Phone garage who suggest I get
back there quick, not with only one bolt in my brake I dont. Mechanic
came out, said thank God it wasnt the side he did, took the other
finger tight bolt and went back to garage to get another one.

Can someone please recommend a GOOD garage in south Cumbria, before I
die.

[1] You should have seen how fast they dived for the t-cut. I guess
the Merc owner was expected back soon.

Whereas a new tyre on loose chippings would have been fine, right?

GS Motorcycles in Kendal have always been good to me.

Actually yes. Even though the bike was still slipping on the
chippings on the bends, I felt more in control.

Purely psychological.

If youre riding on marbles, it doesnt really matter what the middle
layer is, if you follow me.

Quite, on a dry road you dont need any tread on your tyres IYSWIM.

As for the loose calipers, I would have been straight round to my local Plod
shop most likely. They need to be up on a charge for that. No *really*. No
fucking excuse whatsoever. A decent workshop will have the foreman do a
quick sanity check before a bike leaves. Nothing else they could have done
was more likely to injure you.

On the bright side, despite being a big girls blouse, you didnt bin it on
the new tyres.
