Hi,

Ive been experiencing a problem from Tues even to this morning. Been on the
phone to India for over 2 hours and seemingly tried everything (twice!).

Even though I had the same intermittent connection with both my laptop and
desktop and Id put the old (pre homehub) router back on, we still had to go
through the motions of checking my desktop! Lots of other things were tried,
and the line had tested their end. I was even advised to move my TV further
away!

It was finally resolved by them doing a line reset their end. He told me
this was basically a removal of a log file associated with me.

Anyone had experience of this?

See you might have chosen the wrong ISP?

You dont know how right you are! I was very frustrated.

I dont fully understand the wisdom of using a call centre whose first
language isnt English for something so technical as the internet.

Im tied to them until my 12 months is up, which is about 9 months away.
Bugger!

Ive had exactly the same problem and the same frustrations with the
helpdesk. 15 minutes of every call goes through the same things already
discounted. Again they deleted the error log to get me going.

Its hugely annoying but my experiences of other ISPs is just as bad and BT
are actually viewed as one of the better ISPs for support. I guess its what
you get with lots of competition on a service that barely makes money for
anyone.

I made 3 calls in total, and I was very impressed with how quickly I spoke
to a human (less than 1 minute). My past experience with NTL was a
nightmare.

Im more pissed off that it wasnt the first thing they did (reset the
line), I presume its an easy thing to do.

I dont think it is easy, I think a techie has to get involved. The problem
is that, for most people, it wouldnt be the first thing to do. With so
little understanding all they can do is follow the steps on their screen and
they arent allowed to show initiative and deviate from the script.
