Get a call from an organisation telling me that my firm has agreed to
sponsor 20 books as a part of Child Saftey Awareness Campaign - say
they have a form that I have signed agreeing to this from February this
year and asking me of there is any particular school in my area that I
would like the sponsored books to go to, perhaps the school to which my
children go? Intended to inform children on the dangers/how to handle
bullying, racism etc and is linked to the PHSE curriculum. Seems I
agreed to this at a cost of Ł140 earlier in the year.

I told the caller that I had no recollection of having done that so if
they could fax over the documentation then I could review - the fax is
in the other building sir, but Ill get that organised. I felt
uncomfortable because I cannot remember *anything* about this and Im
usually pretty hot on picking up on things / being able to be reminded
of commitments I have made etc. but even more so when asked the school
where my children go.

I asked the caller for his name and contact telephone number. I just
entered the number into google and it points to a Tool Hire firm in
York.

Sound familiar to anyone?

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Dave Emerson
saying something like:

Heh. The following article is lovely.

Until last summer, Merchant Retail Supplies was run by Canadian George
Haligua. In 2004, three gunmen walked into his offices in Montreal and
shot the 50-year-old in the legs.

Seems like he *really* invoiced the wrong people.
