I need a keyboard suitable for gigging but dont want to spend a fortune, I
need it for some smokey blues and rock type piano numbers and also a synth
type sound for accompaniment. Built in rhythm would also be useful but not
essential. I want it to have more than 5 octaves [1] and a minimum 16-note
polyphony with speed sensitive keys [2]. It has to be fairly light and
rugged enough to be hauled around a lot.

Any suggestions?

Anyone got one down the side of their sofa?

[1] More than 61 keys

[2] Not absolutely essential but desirable.

Get yourself down to your local Sound Control with your criteria list.

http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod 1/pages/index.php

You should be able to find a local place somewhere in their website.

I was considering parting with my Yamaha PSR 8000 soon...

...but its probably no good to you, as its only 5 octaves.

Top keyboard anyway... far better than I am, IYSWIM. ;-)
