Hi all.

Ive got a Uvex Wing RS helmet at the moment, but its getting tired
and although getting a spare visor is do-able getting a replacement
ratchet fitting has become a herculean task.

The importers dont want to know a mere minion, local dealers dont
know anything about the helmets and they dont want to know the
importers. One company said We all have issues with Bikestyle!.

Lozzos old reccomend of Moores finds theyre getting rid of what Uvex
helmets they have left in stock, which seems a cheap way to get bits
but they dont have my size.

So Im in the market for a new one. My main concern isnt looks, or
even fit, but its anti fogging capabilities. I dont want to go down
the road of Fog City inserts etc. The double glazed visor rocks when
it comes to clear vision. Any one else use them?

OK, thanks. Enjoy the summer.

I cant believe how a great product like Uvex lids can be so terribly
sold and supported. Fucking shame, that.

Just in case you were considering an FM, they have the extraneous
prefix Anti in their claim Permanent Antifog.

UKRM, sole importers of the Uvex range of helmets?

All that said, Reactolite fog city inserts *rock*, so choose the helmet
you find most comfortable and Bobs your Auntie.

What does your etc cover? Have you tried Foggy masks? Ive used one for
several years and have never misted up when using it. It also allows you to
choose a helmet based on fit, rather than a feature of the visor.

Theyre only a few quid, so it may be worth having a go before excluding the
possibility.

DiRE magazine have just excelled themselves[1] with a testing of a load of
helmets (tho more for impact and comfort than fogging).

Hands up everyone who knew that since we moved from the British Standards
to the EU test helmets no longer have to pass the point impact test?

And the scary thing is how many new helmets - including some 300 quid jobs
- didnt survive it when DiRE tried it on em ....including some big
name brands.

[1]Mind you, thats maybe not so hard - the last really useful thing I
found was backprotectors ages ago.
