I dont want to start a debate about it as youve probably had enough of
that, just wanted to share the gem a tit at work came out with today -

They shouldnt ban fox hunting because people have been doing it for
thousands of years and should be allowed to carry on. Yeah its cruel but
foxes are vermin so what does that matter.

A sound and reasoned argument.

(Ive got no particular sympathy for either the hunters or the antis)
Im not so sure that it isnt a reasoned argument. The cruelty for the fox
doesnt last long - chased for a hour then caught and killed in a minute or
less.
Compared to the lifelong suffering of battery hens, which are kept so
Tescos can sell 6 eggs for 30p, then a desperate hour trying to escape
(and frequently they do escape) is not bad by comparison.
What really riles me is this Government putting time aside to debate
this, when there are far more pressing issues that need addressing.
1 MP said it was being passed as the majority want hunting banned. So why
dont we pull out of Iraq, as Im sure a majority want us out of
there.
Alan.

From what I saw on the news the other night, the fox hunters are more of
a vermin than foxes are!

Certainly after those riots I completely lost any sympathy I had for
them - which wasnt much anyway.

Personally I dont care whether its been happening for years - actually
only a few hundred rather than thousands, or whether the foxes are
vermin or not, the whole spectacle is barbaric IMHO.

Ive lived in the countryside for most of the time Ive lived in the UK.
The Oakley Hunt regularly rode through or from the village I was brought
up in, and not once did I see anything resembling a fox or what could
possibly pass for a hunt when we, as kids, chased the hounds over the
fields.

Its hardly barbaric for spectators, as the blooding happens way out of
the villages in the sticks, where theres no-one to see it except the
hunt or those whove followed them. If you dont want to see it, dont
chase the hunt down.

I got a phonecall from a national tabloid journo yesterday asking me if Id
got any photos of the busty young filly who whipped her top off during the
London protests.
